Well ive this for about 8 or 9 moths and done a fair bit with it.

My first impression was one of quality then dissapointment. My first use was to put a guide bush on it and try and used it with my trend hinge jig.
Unfortunately the way it is set up i could hardly see the cutter as it hit the wood. This is not good as it is very much a visual action using the jig.

I then had to set up my trend again to do it and that works well.

Then, i set it up for channeling in some bookcase strips and wow.
All of a sudden I had a big smile on my face. It is so easy to change the bits and set up.The micro height adjustment is so smooth it makes you laugh.
The motor is well powered unlike my trend and rarely strugles even on things like iroko.
Honetly guys, this tool is quality. It is one of those tools i would buy again instanly if it got nicked.

Everytime I need a new tool i think i will try other thasn bosch bit they give me no reason to change..

i  wish i'd bought that one now, i've got the trend t4 but it just doesn't have a quality feel to it at all.  There's nothing actually wrong with it, it's just not one of those tools that fills you with confidence when you pick it up.

It is the fixed base that makes these so handy. I have had a couple of fixed based routers and they suit certain jobs perfectly against a plunge router. I have a Draper (don't laugh) that has an interchangeable plunge and fixed bases you can swap in an instant. I have the fixed base attached to my router table.  I use my little DIY Bosch (40 years old) for single handed work but If I would certainly like one of those Bosch palm routers.

Feels great in one hand though i must say, the little switch is quite disconcerting to use. I would have liked some sort of trigger for safety.
